Pumpkin Spice Day

One of my favorite things about fall is all the pumpkin!  I'm a big fan of pretty much anything pumpkin... I like pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin whoopie pies, and, well, I could keep going but I'm starting to sound like Bubba Gump and his listing of shrimp dishes!

Anyway, my mom recently saw a bunch of pumpkin foods advertised at Target and went in search of them.  She didn't find any of it originally but found Pumpkin Spice waffles by Eggo and Pumpkin Spice English Muffins by Thomas.  She was kind enough to share and I decided to try my waffles this morning!  I already had Pumpkin Spice K-Cups by Green Mountain so it just made sense to have some Pumpkin Spice coffee with my waffles...  And, to complete my breakfast, it was time to try my Pumpkin Spice milk by Upstate Farms that I picked up yesterday at Wegman's - it was an impulse buy but I figured that I could at least use it in coffee if it wasn't so good.

So, what was the verdict on all of my Pumpkin Spice goodies?  Well, I was pleased with Eggo's Pumpkin Spice waffles.  They had a decently strong Pumpkin Spice flavor but I wish it had actual pumpkin flavor too.  Overall, I'd buy more and enjoy them, but they could be a little better.  I want to try them with maple syrup, but good ol' butter was pretty decent.  Next up - Green Mountain's Pumpkin Spice K-cup was really good, as always.  I previously tried Timothy's Pumpkin Spice K-cups and they just don't hold up to Green Mountain's K-cup.  Finally, the Upstate Farms' Pumpkin Spice milk was good but weird.  It tasted good, but drinking milk that tasted a bit like pumpkin pie was odd.  So I decided to just add it to the coffee...  It was a great addition to the coffee and really enhanced the pumpkin spice flavor of the coffee.

Now I had even more delicious pumpkin spice coffee by combining two pumpkin spice products!  It was, well, almost as good as my favorite fall drink - Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte!  Mmmmm... How could I make this even better?  I know.... Add some Reddi-wip and a bit of McCormick's Pumpkin Pie Spice! Now we are really talking! I will say that Starbuck's whipped cream is better because it's fresher and they add a bit of vanilla to it to really make it extra yummy!  But all in all, the milk costs about $1.50 and could be used for about 6 cups of coffee (so about $0.25 per cup), the K-cups are about $0.50 apiece, Reddi-wip is about $2.00 and could be used for a bunch of cups of coffee (let's say we use about $0.20 worth per cup), and Pumpkin Pie Spice is $4.50 and could be used for hundreds of cups of coffee (so let's say we use about $0.05 per cup).

So, add that up and we're talking $1.00 per cup of almost-as-good-as-Starbuck's-Pumpkin-Spice-Latte!  And, mmmmm, doesn't it just look like something you want to cozy up with on the couch and a blanket?!
